MAME is a portable application. Create a dedicated folder (e.g., C:\MAME ) and extract the files there.

Downloaded sets are usually in .zip or .7z format. Use 7-Zip to extract them. Drop your zipped arcade games directly into the roms folder

If you are using the official MAME GUI, you need to tell it where to look for the games. Open MAME. Go to > Directories .

This is not a ROM issue. Press the Tab key while the game is running to open the MAME configuration menu. Select Input (this Machine) to bind your arcade stick, controller, or keyboard buttons. It is a ROM management tool that audits
