Los Kjarkas Discografia -

The story of Los Kjarkas begins in the mid-1960s. Originally formed in 1965 in Capinota by three teenage brothers—Wilson, Castel, and Gonzalo Hermosa—alongside guitarist Edgar Villarroel, the group started as a modest quartet playing in small towns. The name "Kjarkas" derives from the Quechua word q'arka , which means "brave" or "strong," but it also reflects their humble beginnings, as it can be interpreted as "nothing" or "out of tune," a self-deprecating nod to their early, unpolished sound.

The mid-80s saw continued output with "Pueblos Perdidos" (1985) and "Desde el Japón" (1985) , an album recorded during their extensive tours in Japan. The decade closed with "El Amor y la Libertad" (1987) , "Chuquiago Marka" (1988) , and the experimental instrumental album "Sin Palabras" (1989) , along with "Génesis Aymara" (1989) , which reflected an era of musical exploration. los kjarkas discografia
